Chief Executive

James Ward

James Ward has been Chief Executive of Whiteinch & Scotstoun Housing Association (WSHA) since 2022.

With over 25 years in senior management, James has led transformative initiatives in housing, sustainability, and community development.  He has a Masters in Social Enterprise from Stirling University and is a Fellow of the Institute of Leadership and Management.

His strategic vision is reflected in WSHA’s Business Plan 2025–2030, which focuses on tenant engagement, digital innovation, and green infrastructure.

Prior to joining WSHA, James spent seven years at Barrhead Housing Association as the Director of Asset Management and Communities, where he played a pivotal role in shaping asset management, investment and community strategies.

James continues to champion the role of housing associations in placemaking, community wealth building and tenant support, while drawing on his coaching background to inspire teamwork and resilience.

Mareta

Mareta joined Whiteinch and Scotstoun Housing Association as Director of Housing and Communities in 2025 and brings 18 years of experience, primarily in housing management roles.

Mareta has held senior leadership roles, most recently, at Forth Housing Association, as the Head of Tenant Services, with responsibility for housing management, property services, income maximisation, and tenancy sustainment.

Mareta has played a key role in leading service transformation to ensure housing support remains sustainable, accessible, and responsive to the evolving social housing landscape. This includes improving access to services for tenants and the wider community, reducing anti-social behaviour, strengthening tenancy sustainment outcomes, and ensuring household incomes are maximised.

As well as leading the Housing and Communities team Mareta has strategic responsibility for our subsidiary The Whiteinch Centre (TWC)

Director of Finance & IT

Andrew Reid

Andrew Reid joined Whiteinch and Scotstoun Housing Association in 1996.  Andrew is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants, has a Post Graduate Certificate in Social Enterprise and a Post Graduate Diploma in Co-operatives and Social Enterprises.

Prior to joining WSHA, Andrew was the Group Financial Director of a printing group and previously the Financial Controller of a major UK Plc property developer based in Scotland.

Andrew heads the Finance and IT team within WSHA and also has strategic responsibility for our subsidiaries WS Property Management Ltd and WS Estate Services Ltd.
