Confirming your new housing costs from 1st April 2025  if you claim Universal Credit

In April 2025, WSHA tenants who receive help with their housing costs from Universal Credit will be sent a ‘confirm your housing costs’ to-do on their UC online journal.

You MUST complete this as soon as possible or you risk receiving the wrong amount and will start accruing rent arrears.

You report a change by logging into your on-line UC “journal”. Sign in at www.universal-credit.service.gov.uk/sign-in and follow these simple steps:

  • Click on your To-Do List
  • Click on the “Confirm your housing costs To-do and follow the steps

You’ll find information you will need on the rent increase letter that was sent out to you in February. If you do not have an online journal, then you will have to call Universal Credit on 0800 328 5644.

You must only use the 'confirm your housing costs' to-do to report these changes. A note in your journal is not accepted as reporting a change.

If you are unsure about how to do this, or have any other questions, our Welfare Rights team will be happy to help. Contact us directly via 0141 959 2552 or email adviceservices@wsha.org.uk
